Your "One Stop Italian America"
|
We are the Giuseppe Verdi Lodge #2818 Brentwood Chapter of The Order Sons of
Italy in America. The Brentwood chapter is the only nationally chartered chapter of the
Order of Sons of Italy in America in Tennessee. We offer a variety of opportunities,
both educational and social, to preserve and honor our Italian heritage.
Love the language but don't know how to say anything besides, "That's Amore?" We
offer free Italian language classes, held twice monthly.
For those who want to throw their weight behind something, our Lodge has built and
maintains a regulation bocce court in Granny White Park in Brentwood. Free
instructions and play are available for members as well as the community.
And, of course, there's the food -- the cornerstone of any Italian gathering. Our social
functions include festivals, monthly group dinners, picnics and wine-making.
And though we honor traditions and the past, we always have an eye on the future.
We are working to provide scholarships to young Italian American students and we
reach out to the needs of our community with our time, talents and financial support.
Our meetings are held the last Tuesday of each month at 6:45 at Saint Philip Catholic
Church, 113 Second Avenue, Franklin, TN.
